The Skoop3 11.5, 14.5 and 17m2 have the lowest diameter leading edge tubes on the market. This is achieved thanks to Takoon's WSL (Wing Span Line) system enabling riders to maintain the kite's ridigity. A veritable 'backbone' for the kite, the WSL, working in conjunction with the low diameter leading edge tube, Means reduced aerodynamic drag plus increased wind range bottom and top. This performance-enhancing combination comes with a slight decrease in aspect ratio of the bigger kite sizes making for smoother handling and unprecedented ride comfort. Takoon kites have unparalleled manoeuvrability / performance / comfort ratio.
You have to learn how to use it because it creates a new modality to connect the front lines to the kite. Be sure to read the part of this user guide concerning the span line.
Wingspan Line consists of 4 snap shackles, 1line and 2 connectors. The Wingspan Line is connected to the front flying lines. It follows the leading edge to the snap shackles located on the leading edge itself, then cross the arc of the leading edge, stiffening the kite. The snap shackle needs to be linked with the Velcro located on the front flying lines connectors. Be careful not to fasten too hardly the Velcro.
How to know if you have a good trimming for the wing span line length: A right trimming for the length of the wing span line induces a line slightly slack during riding. The wing span line is stretched when the bar is pulled (maximum of power) and during turns.
- Firstly, thread the front flying line into the snap-in shackle (see picture) - Then, connect the flying line to the connector in the normal way, being careful with the Velcro (see picture).
Quick releasing your Skoop3 with the Wingspan Line The Wingspan Line allows the use of your control bar quick releases. When you use the safety leash, the velcro fasteners on the connectors of the kite which hold the snap shackle can to be reloaded (actioning the safety leash separates the connector from the snap shackle) when you get back to the beach for the end of your session. By doing this the Wingspan Line can be connected more easily to the flying lines.
Note: It is recommended not to fasten too hardly the Velcro. Like that the releasing will be more efficient; the velcros are just made to maintain the WSL when you inflate the kite.
Kiten is harde plasser !
