Sables d’Olonne "For the first competition of the year, rather early in the season, around 30 riders coming from eight different nationalities made the journey. The 30000 USD prize money of this wave event appealed to the best competitors of the world like Herve Boure, Grant Baker, Charles Deleau, Julien Sudrat, Fabienne D’Ortoli and Tuva Jensen. At the first skippers meeting, the Race Director, Eric Garnier, gave a few instructions and advise. He recommended to focuse on the surf in the waves and imposed at least 2 jumps per heat (one port tack and starboard tack)." |
