"Last year wakestyle had a totally new life growing into kiteboarding with Martin Vari ahead of the game. The year before (2002) it was Mark Shinn who took the board off maneuvers into a different world. What will this year bring new to the sport, and more interesting still, who will be leading the charge?
The established riders have been refining their tricks, the young riders have been learning fast and there’s a whole new breed of unknown rippers out there trying to make it into the kiteboarding world. However this year’s freestyle will evolve, the PKRA tour has a trick up its sleeve with a whole new discipline.
For our first event in Podersdorf Austria and as second category of the event we will put a slider into the lake and have the riders show the public and judges what they can do on the slider instead of the usual best freestyle trick format."
