In the beginning we had 2 big hero's out of the race.
Vari losed from the dutch youngster Kevin Langeree and Sky Solbach lost from Dutchie Rolf van der Vlucht. So we started with two big suprices.
The Coolskin guys where on the rol, Gianni and Ruben ended together with the last 4. Gianni against Andre Phillip and Ruben against his kite mate, Aaron Hadlow. It was the best heat of all, between this two mates, but Aaron toke a distance in the last part of the heat when he landed a "huge" kiteloop Handle pass.

Denis had een 2 sterren sessie in Les Blanc Sablons met maar liefst 16 - 22 knots op zijn Takoon Scoop (2002)
Fokke had een 5 sterren sessie in Kijkduin met maar liefst 10 - 14 knots op zijn Takoon Furia LTD (2010)

RobbyNitroz had een 5 sterren sessie in Zandvoort met maar liefst 15 - 20 knots op zijn SlingShot Wave SST (2017)
Mark Shinn (UK) probably did one of the sickest moves of the day in his first heat, a kiteloop, back loop to flat 3, he was horizontal with his kite and was way too high to land it, he tried it anyway and incredibly his board survived his landing on it and then the subsequent explosion. Though it wasn’t landed it was a great effort and the crowd loved it!
Sky Solbach (USA) went out for his first heat on a 12 meter and was way underpowered, his heat got cancelled and in the second run of his first heat he took the 16 meter and the wind came up so much that he was totally overpowered, he probably took one of the biggest crashes of the day.
Kevin Langeree (NED) won from Martin Vari (ARG) in the first round, Martin rode good with a KGB, front to blind with surface handle pass and much more but it was not enough.
Alvaro Onieva (ESP) lost his kite in the second round and had a hard landing; he lost this heat from Etienne Lhote (FRA).
Ingrid Köllbichler (AUT) ended up in second place without doing any board offs. (She told me that it was the first time she did a competition without board offs.)
Gabi Steindl had the biggest air of the day in her first heat.
BasKoole had een 3 sterren sessie in Big Bay met maar liefst 24 - 28 knots op zijn Airush Razor (2011)
