Due to the reckless behavior of a few kiters the local city council in Laie has closed the Hukilau beach access to our sport. In addition, I have received word that other local organizations (that are not to be taken lightly!!!) have agreed with this council and may make things difficult for anyone kiting in the Goat Island area.
Good News: I have been contacted by a local resident and kiter in Laie who reports meeting with a Laie councilman who is willing to hear our side of the story and, perhaps, work out a solution.
For the meanwhile, it is best if people do not kite at this beach and respect the wishes of the locals.
