Sam Light qui a obtenu une des2 wildcards du PKRA Scheveningen te pakken!
Pour le plaisir, son dernier film (avec Aaron Hadlow):
How do you feel about joining the world cup in Holland?
I am really excited about competing in Holland, I only ever competed in a couple of PKRA events over two years ago and now the judging criteria has changed, Im really motivated to have a crack and see how I can do. I think the new Judging is more in line with my riding style but its still early in the year to see how the criteria works out. I also feel more confident in my riding, but saying that everyone is riding so good now! I just can't wait to watch! I'm also stoked to be part of the first event a big surf company such as O'Neill has stepped up, put on an event and really getting behind the sport! With the sport developing so quickly Its a great time to be involved.
How will you prepare for the event?
Right now I'm out in Tarifa for a week staying with Alex Pastor, who is currently leading the tour. He's a good mate and its a great way of seeing the level of competition and hopefully it pushes my riding. I've also been trying to get out on the water at home as much as possible as the conditions are similar to Holland. Its so different riding for competitions compared to riding for videos or invitational rider judged comps, riding for comps is all about training, and repetition on the water which is not the highest priority on a photo shoot.
Are you gonna ride with boots?
Yea for sure! Its the future! I think more and more riders will change to bindings as they suit the new criteria and they are just so much better!
How are you going to impress the judges?
Im actually having a beer with a judge right now! :-D It sounds cheesy but Im just going to try and ride the best i can, for myself to see how I can do.
What do you think about the Dutch conditions?
I have never actually kited in Holland so Im looking forward to checking it out, I've seen lots of videos and the conditions look similar to what we get in the UK, I just hope we get good conditions to have the best event possible.
Anything else you are looking forward too in Holland..???
Stopping by O'Neill headquarters, drinking a Heineken, and hanging out with the crew.
