Weather Synopsis : Deep low pressure to the east, high pressure to the north. Both locked into position, providing the Cape Hatteras coast with consistent Northerly winds in the 15-35mph range. The offshore low grows into a hurricane force storm with 75mph plus winds and 30-40 foot seas. These seas travel landward and hit the Cape Hatteras coast with full force. High Surf Advisories are issued for the entire coast line. Surf is breaking to the horizon on the outside and coming across the highway on the inside. The swell of the year, combined with wind to ride it….
