The finals of the freestyle
Yesterday we got to the final when the wind started to get funky and light so the race team decided to keep the finals for this morning. At 8h30 Ruben Lenten and Aaron Hadlow were sailing up and down checking out the flag, ready to start their (first) heat. Both riders went to the end with all sort of handle passes, kiteloops, down loops and so on, both riders, did flat 3’s, slim chances, Mobes, KGB’s and kiteloops. Aaron went for a downloop slim chance but did not land perfect and Ruben did a nice slim to blind. That was more or less “enough†to make Ruben win for the final. That meant that another final had to be run so the winner could be decided. The wind was pretty light and on-shore, the boys were having trouble staying upwind but there was enough wind to keep competing. Aaron started with a powered front Mobe but did not land; Ruben took the chance in the mean time to take some extra points on his sheets and went for a Mobe 5. Both riders rode insanely good; Ruben went for downloops, a Pete Rose a grabbed slim chance, toeside Mobe, a horizontal kiteloop and a bunch of grabs. In the mean time Aaron went for a KGB, a couple of Mobe’s, a front Mobe, a kiteloop and a downloop Mobe with a BC (Butt Check). The end result was very close, both riders rode very well and with a lot of power, it was a 3-2 decision for Ruben Lenten!
Congratulations Ruben! Congratulations Aaron with a second place but with the title of WORLD CHAMPION!

2. Aaron Hadlow (UK)`
3. Gianni Aragno (ESP)
4. Cesar Portas (ESP)
5. Etienne Lhote (FRA) and Jojo Carneiro (BRA)
Not only the men had to run twice for the final but also the women. Yesterday afternoon the first final of the women got completed with Cindy Mosey winning from Kristin. Today the second final started right between the 2 finals of the men.
Both girls started good with Cindy going for a 720 kiteloop (BC), an Indy grab, a sliding handle pass, an aerial Mobe, a railey with a downloop, s-bend, a 360 jump to blind and some high jumps. In the mean time Kristin went for a railey, an aerial handle pass but did not land good, a kiteloop but a minute or 2 before the end her kite went in the water and was taken by some waves which made it very hard for Kristin to relaunch her kite.
The winning place went to Cindy Mosey with a 5-0 decision, congratulations Cindy on your winning place and another WORLD CHAMPION title. Congratulations Kristin you rode very well!
