Perth, Australia — March 2, 2013: Following the deadline of the KSP riders application period the IKA (International Kiteboarding Association), the sanctioning body of the KSP world tour, published the following release earlier today:

Yesterday, March 1, 2013, marked the end of the 2013 KSP riders application period. Application is now closed for all riders aspiring to compete on the 2013 wave world championship tour. A total of 67 male and 26 female athletes submitted their applications (including tour and single event submissions). The evaluation and selection process in accordance with the qualification system released on February 2nd will start immediately.
According to the qualification system the top 10 male riders (Keahi DeAboitiz, Mitu Monteiro, Airton Cozzolino, Patri McLaughlin, Guilly Brandao, Sebastian Ribeiro, Luke McGillewie and Filippe Ferreira) and top 5 female riders (Jalou Langeree, Ines Correia, Ninja Bichler, Milla Ferreira and Kirsty Jones) of the 2012 KSP world ranking will be contacted by the KSP and offered this year’s tour license. Each of these riders will have until March 15th to accept their tour license.
All other applicants will be awaiting the official announcement of the IKA, which will unveil the list of riders to receive the highly coveted spots on this year’s KSP world championship tour, joining the pre-qualified top seeds.
