The next generation of Lite Air Domination arrives for 2005 with the same light feeling, delivering a faster turning, higher jumping, big wing. The Phoenix II builds on SST Technology introduced last year and incorporates advanced construction techniques with faster turning features offered by the Vision. With unmatched range and all-around light air performance, the Phoenix II will be the first on the water and the last one off.
SST Technology
Phoenix introduced SST Technology in 2004 and demonstrated superiority over the large kite domain. The slender cross section penetrates the wind and speeds up large kite sizes as if they were turbo charged. The streamlined leading edge has been refined with the fairing strip and improved seam construction. The light air, large kite arena is being redefined by Phoenix II.
3D Radial
Aerodynamic loads are distributed from the flying lines to the lifting portions of the wing in a radial pattern. Fabric strength is optimized when seams and weave directions are aligned with these radial loads. Gaastra Kiteboarding has adopted the same practice of fiber alignment that is standard on yacht sails, with the proven result of longer lasting kites with better superior shape retention over “square-cut†kites in the monster sizes.
Integrated Strut Technology
The strut is placed in the same plane as the lifting portion of the wing creating two attachment points instead of one. This improves the ability to control the airfoil within the airframe while stabilizing draft position. IST also increases life of the kite, as the exposed portions of the wing, most likely to be in contact with the beach, are heavier Dacron panels.
Posi-Loc Struts
When struts are mated firmly with the leading edge, the airframe behaves as a more rigid structure. A rigid wing is more efficient and more stable. Posi-Loc Struts employ the most advanced airframe construction in the Kiteboarding industry.
Fluid Drive Wing Tips
A time-tested icon for Gaastra Kiteboarding, the Fluid Drive Wing Tips give Gaastra Kites superior turning speed, control and precision. This practical design blends the leading edge with the tip batten without making bladder repairs a struggle.
johndoe had een 5 sterren sessie in Kijkduin met maar liefst 16 - 21 knots op zijn Best Bularoo (2010)
vin die kites van gaastra nooit zo heel mooi.
lees k nou goed(sst slingshot techniek???:?:X)gebruikt?

geloof me... deze kite is echt als eerst op het water
heeft echt bizar weinig wind nodig...
zit er heel hard aan te denken om een 22.0 te kopen
lichtweer=foil territory :+
