The most obvious change from our test-winning Rhino ’05 is the addition of our revolutionary and patent-pending CamBattens. Because of the improved canopy stability and drag reduction afforded by the CamBattens we‘ve been able to reduce the number of ribs in the Rhino from seven to five while at the same time going to a deeper, more powerful canopy. This deeper canopy combined with a round entry profile gives better stall resistance, which yields not only better low end power but also better hangtime. Combine the safety, convenience and arc stability afforded by the 5th Element with the low drag and profile stability provided by the CamBattens and you have a kite that is without peer in its combination of safety, performance and beauty. Je krijgt je struts gewoon nooit echt hard met splitstrut of octopus.
Daardoor krijgt je kite een minder stijf profiel, hoeveel performance dit scheelt weet ik niet, maar iedereen snapt dat het eigenlijk niet ideaal is. Als een one-pump kite op het strand in de wind ligt te rusten zie ook altijd die struts knikken. Geen gezicht en bovendien slijt je doek van je struts het steeds knikken op de zelfde plek.
Jammer, ik ben wel altijd jaloers op die one-pumpers als ik weer tig van die struts moet volpompen en evenveel ventielen moet openen en sluiten.
Is wel een mooie kite. Vliegt lekker rustig, stuurt lekker rustig. Zeer stabiel. Als je de kite harder wilt laten draaien moet je naar mijn mening toch wel flink aan de bar trekken en weinig bardruk. Maar dat is slechts even wennen.
Springen gaat idd lekker gemoedelijk, je komt goed los.
