One week after my return from Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands I was checking some weather forecasts. 32 foot swell was forecasted on buoyweather with a 20 knot north westerly wind which is side shore, starboard tack like in Hawaii.
On Saturday the 18th of August I had a quick look at our local beach break in Tableview. It was big but I tried to stay calm as I"ve been disappointed far too many times with the weather reports. At 12 noon the swell got even bigger and the wind looked like it was getting stronger too. So I decide to risk the 1 hour drive to Scarborough (near the Cape of Good Hope) one more time.
Heb daar ook gewindsurft, maar toen was het wel een meter lager. Zag vorige week nog op GURU dat er voor elandsbay ruim 6 meter voorspeld werd, winterswells
