Twenty male and, for the first time four female kiters represented countries such as France, Italy, Spain, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Brazil and across Australia, in a battle for AUD$38,500 in prize money, plus valuable competition points and rankings in the KPWT (Kiteboard Pro World Tour) World Cup. However the wind decided not to blow as forecast and the event was delayed till 130 when a steady 15-20 knot seabreeze arrived.
