We got out briefly to try the new Flexifoil Fusion. It was blowing around 9 to 13, with an outgoing tide. Without the outgoing tide, there would be no chance of riding. We had the 18.5 and the 15 in the air. I was on the Slingshot Glide most of the time. In the really light winds we had, it is hard to test out how the kites really work, but it was very impressive that we could ride on both kites in this wind. I actually thought I did better on the 15m kite, than on the 18.5. The 15m was obviously faster, and with a few power strokes, I was off and riding. Here are some additional comments:
Construction: As always, top notch. It is one pump this year and has small battens along the leading edge(like the 2006 North Rhinos). Everything looks really solid and well made.
Bar/Lines: 5th line setup with cleat for the 5th line(the cleat is up above the bar, not below it like the Slingshot bar) so you can do on the fly adjustments. It is also a true spinning 5th line because the line goes through a swivel type thing(that is my technical description!!! ) that keeps it spinning and not tangling. The grip is really cool this year and everything else seems the same as most other 5th line bars.
Speed: The 18.5 wasn"t lighting fast, but most kites that size aren"t that fast. The 15m was a bit faster, and about the same speeds as most other brands. Not quite as fast as the RRD kites, but no other kites are that fast. It basically falls in line with the SS Octane, Naish Torch, etc. But please remember the winds were very light, so most kites in this type of wind won"t even fly...
Stable?: Yes...very stable. Could do some small unhooked tricks and the kite just stayed there...very nice
Lift: Couldn"t tell...wind was way too light to be doing any real jumps...
Shape: Like a Medium High shape. Not a pure high, not a pure medium. From talking to Jeoffrey at Flexifoil, this kite is made to replace the Firestorm(high aspect kite for 2005) and the Strike II (Medium aspect kite for 2005). Basically this kite should be for everyone....
Okay...enough tech talk...here are some pictures...

HELE GOEDE KITE!
