Monkeykites is very excited to announce that the Great Downwinder 2006 - East Coast Australia Odyssey is about to begin. We have 30 riders from 16 countries and all states of Australia making their way to Sydney right now! We will make our way up the coast of NSW and be ready to start the 14 day journey south from the Gold Coast on 1st January 2006 ending at Collaroy Beach on January 14th. We"d love any local riders to come and join us for a kite and a Boags" Strongarm as we come down the coast. A detailed list of start and finish points will be published at http://www.thegreatdownwinder.com on December 30. While we are covering the 1000km from the Goldcoast to Sydney we will be having a go at a number of world records including distance travelled in 1 day. Our team of riders is a diverse group of men and women ranging in age from 15 to 41. Each one has won a place on the trip from a field of over 2000 applicants! |
Our final rider list is below. For more details check the rider profiles on http://www.thegreatdownwinder.com |
