Nickname : Pétoule Age : 14 years old Size : 171cm Weight : 57 kg Place : Saint Brévin l’Océan Sponsors: Northkiteboarding / Rip curl / kalamazoo shop Your first wing ? « I was 10, it was a Naish R3 in 5.0 m², 2 lines that became 4 very quickly. My board was huge.. forget about it ! But I was deeply happy to cruise and make long distances along the shore. I want to thank Guillaume Mariani (3° worldwide) that showed patience and took care of me to teach it all. » A summary of your short carrier ? « I started competing in 2002/2003, without results. I was to light. In 2004, I did win some long distances and did not ended too badly at the French Championship (7°). But it is this year I started to feel good. I have more control on the stress that generate Freestyle competitions, I am more lucid and more tranquil. I grew up and my physical condition is stronger. This is how I make it well at the French set of the Junior European Championship 14/15 years old and make 2 at the general. I win the Junior Long Distance French championship, I am 6th at the Red Bull (1° junior) and 6° at the Derby in la Baule (1° junior) ! » Your favourite discipline ? « I love everything… as long as there is a kite in it. Freestyle, of course, but the Long distance as well for it is tactical and physical. But the top… it is Speed ! I ‘ve been lucky to train with Kasi (Eric Carrière) of 50 Dream and after a couple of trials, he offered me to join his Team for 2006. Adrénaline will be granted at all levels… and this is the waiting period because of November for trials. » The person you admire the most in kite ? « Jaime HERRAIZ for his carrier and for his talents of developer at North. » The rider that influenced you the most ? « Guillaume Mariani of course to start with. Imagine the world’s nº 3 teaches you… it helps and it marks! Now there is César Portas and Mika Fernandez for their style and their total commitment in the manoeuvres. I also like Seb Garrat, he « charges » like a mad ! » Whim whom do you spend time on competitions ? A little bit with everybody, but I get along very well with Damien Pattou, Louis Hutter, Charles Stechele, and the pretty Hélène Barrière. And that’s better that way since we all belong to the same Northkite Young Blood Team ! » | |
