Kirsty Jones is english. She just performed the great challenge of a olng distance. it was May the 13th: Lanzarote (Canaries islands) up to marocco, 140 miles in 9h00 non-stop !
Kirsty left from Lanzarot's beach in Costa Teguise. it was 10 o'clock then. She arrived in Tarfaya in Marocco at 7.00 at night. During the first 4 hours Kirsty almost got sick because of the swell in a light wind ; then came a more solid wind. almost 40 knots…
« It is a chance the wind finally showed up. i was about to question ma route. Then came the dalphins, the flying fishes, and even 2 wales ! It is after 8 hours without seeing the earth i finally could see the shore of Marocco and the village of trafaya… »
Kirsty used a Flexifoil Iron in 12m, the board is a custom ‘Waves’ board, and an S-Core 3mm suit.
All the funds gathered will go to the children of Marocco that live in necessity. Some surf and windsurf material is offered the nautical base of Tarfaya.
