7 nieuwe 2017 kites van Cabrinha:
De Radar:
The Radar is a fun and lively three strut kite, combining sophisticated performance with unadulterated simplicity. Its blend of function and versatility make this kite perfect for just about any riding style. The high sweep and low aspect ratio make the kite ultra-responsive and great for downloops. It provides immediate response with just about any input given to the control system. A simple bridle and thinned profiles keep the power in check, while still providing all the power you’ll want or need. It has a well-balanced, full body, and swept wings which make the kite shockingly easy to relaunch. The generously curved leading edge makes the kite roll into the relaunch position with very little input from the rider. The Radar excels as a crossover kite, making progress easy, whether you’re into freeride, freestyle, or powered up surf.
De Chaos:
The Chaos is a high aspect C-shape kite designed to win freestyle competitions. Proving its capabilities, it carried Liam Whaley to the top of the 2016 Freestyle World Tour Championship ladder. This kite gives you the pop and line slack you need to make unhooked tricks effortlessly. Its advantage over its rivals is its wide wind range. Extended suspension lines or C-port lines add support to the leading edge to maintain arc shape and add flight stability. This ensures torsional freedom and movement to the kite for a stable and supported ride. It is tuned for freestyle moves and flies through turns, rather than pivoting through the wing tips, so you can throw a kite loop with the tightest arc possible. Its bar pressure stays light but delivers the right amount of feedback to let you know where the kite is at all times. Customizable steering options offer either quicker turns, or a more stable kite position for handle passes.
De FX:
Exploding on to the scene in 2016 the FX catapulted to the top of the freestyle crossover market. The highly responsive platform gives you power for explosive pop, and the perfect amount of boost for huge lofty airs. The modified C shape arc allows you to throw aggressive kiteloops, with the ability for the kite to hit the apex before transitioning into a soft landing. The pulley-less bridle is short and tight, increasing reactivity and user feedback. Its lightning fast turning speed, direct steering, and quick relaunch make it perfect for intermediate to highly advanced riders. The FX kite effortlessly bridges the gap between freestyle and freeride to create the perfect crossover kite.
De Switchblade:
The Switchblade is back, with over 12 years of design and composition refinements. Evolving into an icon, the Switchblade sits at the heart of our kite range where style and performance are seamlessly interwoven. Loved by many for its unique combination of smooth power delivery, unrivaled predictability and uncompromising high end performance, the Switchblade has redefined the notion of what a single kite can achieve. The five strut design has distinct segments that hold the canopy true to its intended shape, increasing the kite’s performance regardless of the wind conditions or angle of attack. The wide ranges of attack angles give the SB the incredibly powerful, predictable pull it is famous for. Unmatched in its power, performance and craftsmanship, the SB unapologetically creates the ultimate kiting experience.
De Apollo:
The Apollo is a performance freeride kite designed to pull every bit of power out of the atmosphere and deliver it right into your hands. It is purpose built for kiteboarding, meaning that it has been designed from the ground up specifically for the sport of kiteboarding. The inflated skeletal frame of the kite sets it apart from a ram air kite in many ways. The skeletal frame provides the structure that keeps the kite design true to its intended shape while in-flight. In shifty winds, the inflated struts drive the kite through turbulence with a minimal amount of deformation. The inflated leading edge structure of the kite introduces the laminar flow of air across the kite’s Pure Profile panels, making it very stable even at low speeds. These inflation properties make the Apollo unbeatable as a light wind performance kite and incredibly accurate as a high wind kite. It also goes without mention that an inflatable kite is much more reliable to relaunch, thereby making the Apollo much safer and much more fun to ride than a ram air kite.
De Contra:
The Contra is a three strut light wind kite, designed to optimize low-end power while retaining the finesse that keeps this kite fun to fly. The high aspect ratio maximizes power production and makes generating power and speed a snap. Our trademark depower-on-demand makes managing this power effortless, allowing it to execute sharp and precise turns. Tuned to deliver the type of performance that will widen the scope of what you can do in light winds, the Contra has the power to get you up and riding when the winds are barely showing signs on the water. For 2017 we added pure profile panels to and brought the struts closer to the center to increase canopy support.
De Drifter:
Purpose built for kite surfing, the Drifter is known for its drift stability, precise turning, and instant power and depower. Dominating the podium with multiple World Tour Kitesurfing Wave Championship titles in both the men’s and women's divisions, it delivers a perfect blend of the best elements for riding waves. Three well-placed struts keep the profile of the kite upright and compact, so you can turn on a dime and power and depower on command. Two bridle tuning options optimize performance for offshore wind conditions or onshore winds. Its standout characteristic, coined “Slack Line Drift”, defines its exceptional ability to drift downwind and stay aloft when the lines are slackened. The Drifter’s ability to get you up and going with a short depower travel allows you to drop in, accelerate, then dump the power completely to snap or carve turns. These characteristics combined that have put this kite at the top of its class for six years running.
En dat zonder stiekum wat te lekken en daar later heel verontwaardigd over te zijn (afgezien van de bar dan misschien)
