José LUENGO and Kirsty JONES winners of the GUINCHO WAVE MASTERS !

After a skippers meeting, everybody was glad to start the final rounds. Indeed, after the 3rd round, only 12 riders are still in the Wave Masters draw. During three hours, they showed us all the range of surfing tricks, defending their chance to have a piece of the prize money at stake. The beach was full of crowd all along the event site and all assisted to the final rounds with attention. Some of them didn’t knew what the kiteboard was !

On the ¼ finals, two frenchies –Vincent Tiger and Philippe Alengrin– and two spanish –Salvador Carballal and Jose Luengo– passed these four heat heats, in spite of good performances of the two south africans –Tyrone Rawlins and Björn Thompson– four Portugueses, Abel Lago from spain and Bruno Sroka, the french rider from Britanny, well know in the KPWT since a long time, now passionated by the Wave riding and the speed crossing races.
The semi-finals were explosives with two huge confrontations between Tiger and Carballal ,on the first hand, Alengrin and Luengo on the second one. This France/Spain opposition turned into the advantage of the Spanishes, winning their respectives heat. Big disillusion for Vincent Tiger who, for the first time of the Wave Masters season, is defeated by someone. José Luengo couldn’t let this chance passed and he did what was necessary to do, with all the talent we all know he’s got, to obtain his ticket for the final.

For the first time of the Wave Masters season, we assisted a 100% Spanish final. The two friends became rivals on the water for 15 minutes ! … and finally, after a very tight opposition, José Luengo took the best on his compatriot Salvador Carballal.

We finished the event day with a wave riding expression session with an X-BOX 360 at stake. Many riders jumped on their board and pumped their kite to win this priceless gift.

Congratulations to all the riders who made some very good demonstration of their surfing skills during this week of action in Guincho.

Tonight, everybody invited at the disco \"4US\" for a closing kite party, which for sure will stay in the memories for ever !
