M.E.A.K. CHARITY KITESURF CUP 2007
NYALI BEACH HOTEL
International Kitesurfers head out to Kenya for the Charity Event at Nyali Beach 30th January 2007
2007 will start with an awesome event at Nyali Beach Hotel Kenya. Building from a small event in Kenya 2005 and following on in the footsteps of the much talked about event of 2006, the MEAK Charity Kitesurf Event is coming round again at the end of January 2007. It’s all about how kitesurfing can give back a little, in one of the best kite locations in the world.
Riders ranked from all over the UK , France, Ireland, Italy , South Africa and Kenya are taking part, and there will be both amateur and pro events.
The event is a laid back one with judged sessions and the rider judged Kenya Trophy. There will be kicker and Slider events, The legendary Fire jumping over a burning boat and Race Days, along with Expression sessions judged by reps from the BKSA. New this year is a full moon kite session and Beach Party.
M.E.A.K (Medical and Educational Aid to Kenya) is a UK based and registered charity who organise teams of surgeons from London’s top hospitals to travel to Kenya to perform lifesaving heart and eye surgery on Kenyan children who cannot afford or even hope for treatment. MEAK’s work has expanded into a treatment for all policy, they also supply medical equipment from the UK to severely under-equipped clinics and hospitals all over Kenya. MEAK is all run very admirably by a husband and wife team and their friends and family, so they really need lots of support. To contact Meak go to http://www.meak.org/
All donations direct to them please and state Kitesurf Kenya as Ref. Last year we raised £8,000.
