Ozone Factory visit November 2006. Ozone invited its team of worldwide distributors over to Viet Nam last month to visit the factory where all the Ozone products are produced, from the largest paraglider to the key ring that comes with every paraglider or kite sold. The idea was to show the distributors how the factory system worked and then for the distributors to pass this information on to their dealers, showing them the huge benefits of keeping Ozone in their shops and how Ozone can keep abreast of end customer service. The “JUST IN TIME†manufacturing system that Ozone chose to use is far different from 99% of other manufacturers in the same industry and it shows in the quality of their products. Just In Time (JIT). (here is an excerpt from a complete document on JIT written by APICS, the association for operations management) Just-in-time (JIT) is defined in the APICS dictionary as “a philosophy of manufacturing based on planned elimination of all waste and on continuous improvement of productivityâ€. It also has been described as an approach with the objective of producing the right part in the right place at the right time (in other words, “just in timeâ€). Waste results from any activity that adds cost without adding value, such as the unnecessary moving of materials, the accumulation of excess inventory, or the use of faulty production methods that create products requiring subsequent rework. JIT (also known as lean production or stockless production) should improve profits and return on investment by reducing inventory levels (increasing the inventory turnover rate), reducing variability, improving product quality, reducing production and delivery lead times, and reducing other costs (such as those associated with machine setup and equipment breakdown). In a JIT system, underutilized (excess) capacity is used instead of buffer inventories to hedge against problems that may arise. |

Net terug uit Vietnam, daar wordt veel met de 2006 Ozone Instinct gevaren/gevlogen. Deze kite presteeert namelijk geweldig in gusty omstandigheden (gusty bedoel ik van 15 tot 30 knopen en alles daartussen). Ik heb m'n fuels een middagje rust gegund en met de Instinct een uurtje gevaren. Ik kan niet anders zeggen dan dat ik erg onder de indruk was van het vaargedrag van de Instinct.
@ Creem, heb je ook de mogelijkheid gehad om met de nieuwe instinct te varen of niet?
De 2006 instinct presteert idd super, heb zelf de 13 en vind het een super vlieger!

Helaas, alleen de 2006 versie. Zodra de 2007 Sport en Edge in NL zijn wil ik ze hier ergens gaan testen.
Waarom heb je de 13 gekozen? Weeg je 80+ kilo ofzo?
Ik weeg 70 kilo en heb met de 11 gevaren en kon met 15 knopen easy hoogte lopen alsook met 35 knopen nog easy varen.
Waarom ik een 13 heb gekozen, omdat mijn maatje die van hem verkocht omdat hij zijn vinger had gebroken met een kiteloop. Ik kon die voor een nette prijs kopen.
Ik weeg 75 kg. Vaar op een nobile 666 126*38 en kan vanaf 11/12 knopen goed hoogte lopen. Enkel stopte het bij 28 knopen (ging nog maar was onveilig).
Ik vind de 13 gewoon een super kite en ga dit jaar waarschijnlijk de nieuwe halen (sport of edge)
