Big Bay, home to that fabulous picture of Table Mountain, is also home of a very special kitesurf event, taking place for the first time this year : The OXBOW kitesurfing challenge
From December 19th – 21th 2008, spectacular kitesurfing days will attract approx 100 South African top riders and lots of spectators:
Program:
Friday: This day will be to attract people to the beach with offering free lessons & demos, shops will be testing and demoing their new gear. Fun events with product and cash prizes will be organised.
Saturday: The main kitesurfing day. The visitors will be able to see all disciplines like wave riding, coarse racing and freestyle. In the evening, the big party will start with bands (White dog Productions) and DJs from Cape Town, who will entertain the whole night.
Sunday: is reserved to continue with more kitesurfing events and heats from Saturday ending with the prize giving ceremony for all riders.
The event is going to be a festival this year, South Africa’s top riders will be putting on shows for the spectators - brands will have the chance to present new gear and do sales.
Location: The OXBOW kitesurfing challenge will take place in Big Bay, Bloubergstrand. Weather & sea conditions will be perfect for all disciplines. Beside that, Big Bay Lifesaving Club will provide the use of their building and facilities (storage, member area, toilets, showers, parking, catering, bar, security, rescue craft, medical emergency/evacuation plans etc.). Surrounding and beach will provide enough space for building up an attractive event area for public and sponsors!
Several media cooperation, PR & advertising activities will guarantee proper announced and promotion of the event and its partners.
