stukje van het review
today I read a brief review about Recon in latest issue of german KITE Mag. They stated that they failed relaunching the tested Nitro 14 in winds between 12 and 16 kts and that they had to get back to Pete Cabrinha himself for advise. Pete told them that propper relaunch requires some restistance in the water, utilizing the kiteboard. KITE testers tried again and now it worked. I´m a bit concerned about this report as once the kite has been dropped, the board mostly is gone as well and usually some upwind working is required to get it back. Now it seems that relaunch doesn´t work at all without the board.
They´ve also shown pics of a recon-relaunching C02, swimming kiter holding his board in front of him, but didn´t comment if the relaunch procedure would succeed without "resistance tool" as well.
I wonder how the system behaves in real light wind conditions, where 5th line concepts prooved really effective ? Maybe the way recon "forwards" the force from the steering line to the first strut differs from what the 5th line effects !?
