Heel goed dat dit er is, met al die ongelukken tegenwoordig _/-\o_
Kiteboarding is considered by many as the most extreme water sport today. This, combined with the occurrence of numerous accidents, has slowed down the growth of the sport.
Eager to constantly contribute to a better and safer development of the sport and promote a better image of kiteboarding, IKO, the International Kiteboarding Organization, is expanding its 2003 activities and has set forward a security norm, the KS2 label or Kiteboarding Safety Standards.
The KS2 label is a result of the need for a standardized international safety label that is felt among manufacturers, event organizers, instructors, school owners and riders.
KS2 is a label certifying that kiteboarding safety devices correspond to kiteboarding safety standards commitments. Manufacturers will be able to send their equipment for testing to the KS2 department, who will perform various tests in a laboratory and in live situation. According to the results, the product will either be granted the KS2 label or not. All products will follow the same test procedures and be judged according to the same criteria.
