A much calmer day than yesterday, thankfully….
On the manufacturer side, the absence of Boards & More (North and Fanatic) and Panacea (Bump&Jump and Wipika) from the Surf Village was very much noticed. Cunning Panacea were actually running a show of their new 2003 gear in a hotel a few hundred metres from the show itself (an object lesson in how to maximise the potential without actually being at the show !).
Of the ‘guest stars’ Franz Olry was the big name arriving today, at the end of the afternoon, fresh in from Hawaii/Maui, where, for once and much to Franz’s disappointment, conditions had been no better than mediocre…
And after two whole (!) days at the show Julien Sudrat upped and offed heading for the Alps for some maximum snowboard action !!!
Another quality show day with plenty of new equipment to appreciate !!! Few people can have failed to clock the trendy new fake fur foot straps on the Takoon stand, likewise their new and very well finished harnesses. On the Wipika front (and therefore away from the ‘official’ show !) the lucky few got a chance to marvel at the outrageously light weight of the new Edge 146, on show for the very first time !!! Also very interesting : the new Gaastra board range, 2 prototypes on show in Paris that should be seeing the light of day as production models very soon…
Mathieu Pendle too is in the house today. No official stand maybe but that didn’t stop him presenting his new Globerider wings to anyone who was interested !!!
