From 29th September to 3rd October, Walvis Bay in Namibia was the scene of the annual South African speed trials week, otherwise known as the Panasonic Walvis Bay Speed Week! A south African settiong maybe but nevertheless several Europeans on hand including two French riders, Emmanuel Taub and Cyril Pimont, plus German rider Girk Hanel. And at the end of 4 well winded days it was Emmanuel Taub who took the prize with the week’s best performance of 38.10 knots, placing him 3rd in the world so far behind Robby Naish and Malik Bouchenafa. A great result too for Takoon who had just snapped Taub up for their rider team with the specific aim of breaking the record!!!
