20th – 24th February are the dates and Bintan Agro Resort on Bintan island is the host for this brand new and exciting event for the KTA. This will be the first time Indonesia has seen an International competition at this level for kitesurfing and with sponsorship coming in directly from the Bintan government but this will be a 50 point IKA and ISAF approved event with full support coming from the Porlasi (Indonesian sailing federation)

Day 3 of KTA Bintan finally saw the sun coming out to make the freestyle single eliminations shining, with Kristin Oja ( North - Estonia ) winning the finals against Victoria Soloveykina ( Best - Russia ), and Long Nguyen Duc ( Kinn Team - Vietnam ) winning his first finals ever in a KTA event against 2 times Asian Champion Yo Narapichit Pudla ( Ozone - Thailand ).
Big surprise from the Boracay kid Christan Tio ( North - Philippines ), who stepped up big time since last year, throwing out slims, 313s and other stylish passes with an impressive ease. The kid is 11 years old and wasn't allowed to unhook until his 10th birthday !
The day ended with 3 more Twin-tip races and 2 more for the raceboards. Atte Kappel ( Flysurfer - Sweden ) is the man to watch as he won 90% of his Twin-tip races so far ...

Seems like wind gods are with us this year, as it was again a steady 20 kts and sunny day for our first event of the 2013 season.
Freestyle doubles started early morning, with Kristiin Oja and Long Nguyen Duc having to defend their 1st place. For the ladies, Victoria Soloveykina who lost the single finals in an unlucky heat, came back strong and finally stole the crown to Kristiin with Slims and 313s, but for the mens, 20 years old Vietnamese Long stood strong in his finals against turkish rider Taner Aykurt , who previously managed to beat Thai champ Yo in semi finals to climb to the second spot on the podium.
