They're surfboard/skim board deck pads with built in threaded
inserts for foot straps. There is a small plastic plate imbedded
in the pad that serves as a grip ridge and also holds the inserts.
The plastic plate is stuck to the board with 3M VHB (very high bond)
mounting tape. The rest of the pad is regular peel and stick. It is
important to have a clean surface before application. When stuck
to a clean surface they will not come loose. But there is a way to
remove the entire pad if necessary.

I recommend a wide stance (76cm 30" c/c) on surf short boards
with the front pad sufficiently forward. Don't setup your surfboard
like a sailboard - you need to be more forward. In light conditions
just take your back foot out and place it in front of the foot strap.
There are multiple inserts so you can make adjustments after the
pads are on the board. The padz are dual density so they help
protect the board and are easy on your feet. Some wax between
the padz and you're ready to ride.
