Aanvulling van Nick Jacobs
My winter season was pretty much in tone, untill I got an email from Slingshot. They asked me if it was possible for me to go to Boracay Island (the Philippines) for a photoshoot for Stance Magazine. That was 14 days before I was of to Brasil. I wasn't hesitating a second! I booked a ticket straight away and had to leave 5 days later!
I heard a lot about this place from other riders, so I couldn´t wait to get there allthough the flyed was like 32 hours!
Well, after a loooooong flyed I finally arrived in Boracay. It was a nice quiet little island with bikes riding everywhere!
I had a huge jetlack so I went straight to my hotel a had a sleep.
Next day we all had to meet at a local kite club to arrange the trip. The wind was very light but we went out anyway. I was riding my 15m2 fuel for 3 hours and the the wind died unfortunetly! Windguru handn´t predicted too much wind, so when there just were a little breeze coming in, we started pumping!
We didn´t have any wind for 3 days so we just did a lot of lifestyle shoots, at very nice locations. So all we needed now was the wind as allways!!
It finally picked up a few days later but only for a 15m2. I knew it was important to get some action shots, so I did like 10 maneuvers in 5 min. just infront of the camera guy. I had a couple of nice mobe5´s and mobe to wraped and some frontmobes, slimchance´s and L3´s. The wind was so light that you coulnd´t really perform as you normally can!
We only had 1 more day like that: wind pics up in the beginning of the day, and then died of at like 4pm.
We got to see a lot of beautiful places, and with a nice camera crew and some nice riders, so I didn´t complain at all!!
I want to thanks Jeremy from Ekstrem-elements and Joseph from Stance and Slingshot kiteboarding for making it happen! Thanks guys.!
Next up is Brasil, so stay tuned at www.sskites and www.nickjacobsen.com
