“Quiksilver Kite Jam”-powered by Naish

Three days of kite competition, three disciplines succesfully finished.
Quiksilver Kite Jam is the continuation of last year “Warriors of the Wind” –kite event sponsord by Quiksilver, Naish & Samsung.
With wind beetween 12- 18knots, two days full of spectacular action, 22 best Polish compeitiors, showed their skill in three disciplines: freestyle, slider/kicker contest and most spectacular kiteloop contest.

After heavy winter preparation in various location, all of the riders were eager to show their new tricks and surprise their oponents in first kite contest this Year in Poland.
The increased level of rider ability at this years competition comparing to last year events, caused spectacullar and close hits almost from the first rounds. Powered tricks such as mobes, kgb’s, slimchances, grabed slimchances, front mobes to blind, L3, blind judges, were seen almost in every heat, making judgement/scoring really hard and tight in some cases.

The first surprise came in quaterfinal when Maciek Kozerski beat event favorit Janek Korycki. Then after an extremly tight fight advanced to the final over Victor Borsuk. In the final Marek Zach from Czech Republic, who beat Piotr Streicher in the semi-final, showed nice style and some powerful front mobes and double s-bends and wined over Maciek.

In the Double eliminations, Janek Korycki, who was seeking revenge for earlier defeats, stormed his way through the Double eliminations. He perfectly performed front mobes, pete roses, kl hp, and other perfectly executed tricks advancing easily over his oponents untill he met Victor Borsuk. They both showed power, style and variety of their repertuar, but in the end, the judges decided that it was Victor who won this tight hit. Victor then continues his winnig form by beating Maciek Kozerski then beating Marek Zach twice in the final, Victor’s perfect front mobes, blind judges, kgb, s-bend to blind, kl hp, give him his first ever competition win.

In the woman freestyle, 15 years old Karolina Winkowska beat Wiktoria Boszko after a fierce fight in 5 heat’s. Wiktoria won the first 2 heats, but than Karolina won the remining 3 heats in a row. The level was really high and girls showed hp, s-bend to blind, kl s-bends, powered downloops to blind atc.

Winner of slider/kicker was Janek Korycki, who performed flat 3 on slider gap, and various blind landing after slider gap. Different tactics gave second place to Maciek Kozerski, who preferred to ride on rainbow slider and performed slimchance from the kicker.
Girls winner is 15-years old Karolina Winkowska, who switch stance ride the rainbow slider and did the flat3 from the kicker. All of them showed confidence and true soul during their spectacullar performances!

Among the girls again Karolina took the first prize over Wiktoria. The third and most spectacular discipline was Kiteloop contest, where judges were looking for most radical kiteloops to be executed. The competition was stolen by Maciek Kozerski and Janek Korycki who’s kiteloops were the most radical and powerfull. Spectators and even other riders watched on in amazment as these two battled in the sky’s with their radical kiteloops.
