Hi, I’m Miguel from Kaimaleon. This weekend we could attend to the North Dealer meeting that took place in Tarifa. I’m a usual reader of Hanglos and wanted to share some info and pics of the new North Fuse. This info has not been published yet on the Internet, so the "news link" just points to our blog.
--------
Fuse is a North kite still in developement. Program is the same for Rebel: freeride/race kite that excels in waves. Although in the ground in seems very similar to the Rebel: similar leading edge, similar struts eight and placement, similar reinforcements and construction details… it is a slightly different kite in the air. The canopy design and the bridle make it fly a little different than the Rebel
Rebel on the left, Fuse on the right.
Compared to the Rebel, the main difference is that Fuse is a kite designed for 4 lines use with bridles supporting the arc of the leading edge. It has still a really direct feel in the air but is a little more powerfull kite size by size and I dare to say that it has even more hangtime than the Rebel. Bridle has two pulleys for each side, with plastic balls to stop the movement of the pulley so most of the time in the air the pulleys are blocked against the stopper balls. Fuse is 5 struts and also uses the floating strut concept in the central one, allowing for really fast power/depower and giving an extra of stability in gusty/strong winds like the Rebel.
Unfortunately we won’t see the Fuse in the shops until several months, time in which it will be fine tuned by North to get the most of the kite.

In a couple of days we will post a report of the meeting with more information of the Fuse and other North products (in Spanish only… sorry)
