Day 5 on the KPWT ESSAOUIRA WORLD CUP 2009
and the wind forecast has remained the same and once again held itself back. It is looking more promising however for the rest of the competition with wind arriving late on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.
After the skippers meeting at 11, SPRITE gave all the riders caps and hoodies and obviously many sprites! There was a great feeling amongst all and a picture of the occasion was taken to commemorate the fantastic moment.
Today, the riders enjoyed the swell that had arrived at the Wave spot just south of Essaouira. They took the opportunity to enjoy the sun, the waves and work on their surfing.
KPWT held a meeting with all the riders at 2pm in the conference room at the Atlas hotel to discuss the future of the tour and what can be improved.
It proved very informative and helpful for all concerned and the KPWT will take all suggestions into consideration for the future.
Day 6 on the KPWT ESSAOUIRA WORLD CUP 2009 and the wind has not arrived.
The forecast is looking much better for the weekend, but lets wait and see and hope we can continue with the final for the 2009 KPWT year.
The KPWT held a dinner for the riders, sponsors and local organizers at Seven, which is a wonderful restaurant on the promenade. Everyone enjoyed the local cuisine and it was a great occasion to bring them all together and spend some time after a long year on the tour.
After the skippers meeting at 11, the riders went south to surf, some enjoyed time at the spa or lay next to the pool enjoying the sun and others went off to the local golf course to work on their swing!
To look back on the year, the KPWT has noticed the promise of its young riders within the junior competition. Forest Bakker (FRA, FLEXIFOIL), Julien Kerner (FRA, TAKOON), Blazej Ozog (POL, NORTH), Danilo Nacarato (POR, SLINGSHOT), Christophe Tak (BEL, Liquid Force) and Jerome Cloetens (BEL, TARIFA,COM) are all riders who have shown huge potential, and we will keep a close eye on them in the future.
