The Slim Chance is for most people the easiest powered Handle Pass. You can break the Slim Chance down in four steps; Front Roll take off – 180 degrees rotation – straight up Handle Pass – landing. It is important that you have all the movements print in your head before you start practicing, this is essential for all the other tricks you are going to learn.
The position of the kite is really important when you start learning the Slim Chance, off course for a real Slim Chance you need to keep your kite at an angle of 45 degrees. When you start practicing put your kite at 11 or 1 o’clock, at this position you still have forward speed and some lift of your kite.
Now pop off as you would do for a Front Roll, but only make the first 180 degrees rotation. After the 180 degrees go for the straight up Handle Pass, let your front hand go off the bar and make the Handle Pass. On this moment it is really important that your kite stays at 11 or 1 o’clock, if the kite goes to high it will get really hard to pass the bar.
After you passed the bar your legs will fall automatically under your body and you will land. To get your second hand on the bar you just need to think about grabbing your second hand on the bar before you take off for the Slim Chance, it needs to be in your mind.
