3rd day of the main show for us, time to have a deeper look at some of the new stuff for 2003 !
Tuesday is also marked by the presence of Bertrand Fleury in the Surf Village, today only as he’s only stopped off en route to Montpellier… Back with the kitesurf names, Pete Cabrinha and Svein Rasmussen have both gone now, and any of you thinking to come along this weekend specially to see Robby Naish had better think again as the great man will not now be present. A big shame…
The most happening stand and the place to hang around is unquestionably the Takoon stand. The boys have constructed this metal affair that means you can actually test their control bars and boards as though you were really on the water !!!
One thing that had managed to escape us up to now, the legendary Quatro make, famous for their windsurf boards, now looking at some twin tip shapes that could soon see the light of day under the Quatro flag…. Clearly some of the radical windsurfers are thinking to take a closer look at this kitesurfing lark !!!
Also noteworthy, the presence of Eric Beaudonnat from the IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation) who is using the Boat show to spread the word about the kind of work the IKO will be getting up to in 2003… And on the initiative front, we noted the editors of the big 3 French kitesurf mags having a very cosy chat about some communal effort to spread the good word even more about riding safely !
