Another power cut today on Hayling Island, courtesy of Sparky 2 (aka Lewis) kitesurfing off the back of the Esso garage.

Bully, Chrissy Boy & Lewis went for a session in Langstone Harbour today. The wind was northwesterly & the conditions were good in the harbour with a cross onshore wind of around 15-20mph.

Bully & Chris were boosting over the sand bar and had a very good time. At some stage in the day, Lewis came a bit too close to the low level power lines at the back of the car park that coincidentally supply Hayling with electricity. Youve guessed the rest - his kite got tangled in the lines and BANG it was toast, turning into a nasty molten mess.

Fortunately for Lewis (aka Sparky2 ) the thoughtful people at Southern Electric had installed a circiut breaker after Bullys incident and the power supply cut off immediately. Had this not worked, Lewis would not be around to tell the tale.
