The first day of the Northsea open kiteboarding championship being perfect... good wind, nice weather and 40 registrations! The heats followed up each other fluently under the professional guidance of the race director Matthias Charton. Lots of impressive demonstrations eg kiteloops, jumps to blind, board off manoeuvres, handle passes and huge air. Extreme moment of the day: Mark Shwimm launched off like a rocket to another stratosphere while doing a quadruple front loop. Unfortunately, he crashed his kite and lost the heat. Some big names like Julien Sudrat (FR), Sky Solbach (US), Abel Lago (ES) and Jose Luis Ciriraco (dom. rep.) gave the full crowd lots more than they expected. But nevertheless, a 14 year old super-talent, Aron Hadlow (UK) managed to sail everybody home.
