NEVER RIDDEN SLIDERS OR KICKERS?????? This event is aimed at YOU! we have mellow features and on hand Pro's to make you transition into the world of kickers and sliders as fun and enjoyable as we can.
***Apart from having fun - we've just had the call from Flexifoil, and we've now got over £1000 worth of sweet stash to give away! We'll be giving it away all over the place to those who show the most commitment and enthusiasm, whether that be by best wipeout or being crowned overall champion of the weekend!***
So sign up has started and here's the breakdown! I know time is tight but this is going to be a weekend not to be missed. Please read the below carefully, it not as long as it seems and is all important.
Accommodation
We've have taken over the local youth hostel, situated 10 minutes drive from the event site. Competitors will get a comfy bed in one the hostels many dorms and to settle the stomach after one too many pints, full English breakfast
will be provided early each morning before we hit the beach for the day's proceedings!
You can arrive at the youth hostel anytime after 4pm but please aim to arrive before 11pm if possible. If this will be a problem please contact us in advance.
We have had the liquor licence signed over to us for the weekend so feel free to bring your own booze. For consumption in the youth hostel ONLY!
This accommodation is only for competitors, the Youth Hostel have the right to kick us out if they find more than 50 people in the accommodation.
Deposits
We require a deposit of £20 from every rider, ideally in the form of a cheque, either from the individual or from the University. This will be destroyed at the end of the weekend providing there are no problems. Any damage or breakages etc. will result in the loss of all deposits.
Registration
Registration will be taking place between 7-11pm on Friday in Golant Youth Hostel. For those of you unable to make registration on the Friday night or who arrive late there will be a second change for you to register Saturday
morning at the beach. This will be between 8 - 9am
The Jam
Saturday will start with rider briefing at 9am, this is compulsory for all competitors. If you are not there you will NOT be allowed to ride.
After briefing we will get the features into position, this will be a real team effort, everyone is expected to chip in where they can. Many hands make light work and all that. Then it's time to enjoy! There is no pressure on
anyone, this is a Jam you ride when you want and as much as you want.
NO FINS!
This is a must I'm afraid, you will not be allowed to ride the features with fins as they can cause massive amounts to damage to the features and damage to the sliders and kickers can cause damage to you! So over the next couple of weeks get those fins off and have a practice it's not as hard as you might expect.
Media
Expix Media will be on hand shooting all weekend forever immortalising the weekends thrills and spills.
The Pro's
Now we know that this will most likely be the first time any of you have ever attempted a slider or kicker, this is the whole point of the event and to give you all the best chance of success. There will be a couple of pro
kiters there over the weekend showing you their stuff, but also giving advice on starting to hit the features, and also learning any tricks you want to give a go.
