Kiteboarding enthusiasts have another reason to celebrate. Shortly after the integration of kiteboard racing in the Olympic program for 2016, the IKA (International Kiteboarding Association) decided to hold an Airstyle-World Championship for the first time. The champion will be determined as part of the Beetle Kitesurf World Cup in St. Peter-Ording (06. – 15. July).
With this new spectacular discipline, spectators can look forward to extremely long and high jumps and fancy tricks. Whereas freestylers do quick radical and complicated exercises with high speed and short airtime, the important factors in Airstyle next to the hang time (time, the kiter is in the air) are especially the originality and fantasy. In the discipline Airstyle it is mainly a matter of the overall performance and to present an action-loaded show.
The juding criteria will be releases very soon in the championship rules section.
