Everyone is on the spot by 10.00am.
Today’s weather forecast shows a depression, but the wind is actually coming more from due north, not the ideal conditions for riding Lautaret.
Competition director announces an hour and a half delay to see if the wind is going to shift at all.
Everyone chills out, it’s a very relaxed atmosphere and there’s lots of chit-chat, the various snowkite tribes spending time getting to know each other more.
We’re all still recovering from the Flysurf.com early evening party the night before, under a blazing sun, telling each other what we’ve been up to since the last competitions, taking advantage to nail a few interviews since everyone seems to be happy enough.
Around 1.00pm the competition director, in collaboration with the organisers and the knowledgeable local crew, decide to call off competition for the day.
Some of the riders disappear with a few of the local crew to check out another spot at Casset, which is supposed to be a great ride in a northerly, others make the courageous climb by foot up the mountain just so as to board back down the virgin slope.
Competition scheduled again for tomorrow, cross your fingers that conditions will be along for the party.
