Mount Chenaillet (2650m)
It's a great freeride in the ski resort Montgenevre, but it requires the approach march to reach its peak. Its geographical location between France and Italy has made a strategic strewn remnants of war ...
A few years ago, we could not have imagined getting into the corridors ... but our vision has changed ... we thought about it and we tried "ride up" the Chenaillet! and not once:we killed it and no discrimination between the south side and the north face!
(ps: sorry for the "riders" Montgenèvre ...)
It keeps me as well to recall that the geological Chenaillet is a rarity. Its strange rounded rocks and green, called Pillow lavas have long animated debate among geologists. It is an ancient underwater volcano 155 million years, raised by the formation of the Alps.
It is an oceanic fossil flap, known only three places in the world: Mount Chenaillet at Laddakh and in the Sultanate of Oman.
