The final day of the PKRA Hainan started with a freestyle expression session and finished with a beautiful closing ceremony. Gisela Pulido and Alex Pastor were rewarded for winning the event and being recognized as the 2013 world champions. The conditions were perfect for another session with onshore winds around 15 to 20 knots and kickers; the riders really enjoyed the session. The past three weeks in China have been amazing with the wind almost every day and great hospitality from the Chinese.
Aaron Hadlow, Christophe tack, Liam Whaley, Alberto Rondina, Garat and many put on a great show for everyone. With all the pressure off they were able to just enjoy the conditions, Alberto landed another Moby Dick five and the rest of the riders were attempting tricks that we will probably see on tour next year. All the riders are adding grabs to all the flat and inverted moves and just keep making the moves look more stylish.
Now that the tour winners have been decided the top men and women will move on to Argentina for the final stop of the year for a freestyle and slalom event. This will give all the riders the opportunity to move up in the rankings and visit a beautiful country. Bryan Lake needs just a few more points to secure his Slalom World Title.
The island of a Hainan and the city of Haikou provided a great platform for all the PKRA riders to show what they can do. With the trade winds blowing every day, it was a great event. Check www.prokitetour.com for the latest news, rankings and results.
