In "Shaped in Portugal" the Best kiteboarding team riders Pedro Henrique and Nuno ‘Stru’ Figueiredo getting some heavy barrels in Portugal. The new boards will hit the markets in Q1 of 2014: New for this season are three hand shaped designs to cater for the needs of all surfers. Constructed with a classic PU Foam Core and Polyester lay-up for maximum flex and feel Best has taken their design one step further by building them with advanced Tuff Tech Ballistic Surf Mesh. Tuff Tech Ballistic Surf Mesh uses high strength, low weight polymer fibers that are bonded together to create a durable, flexible and impact resistant mesh that can used in place of fiberglass. By using less fiberglass, Best has been able to trim hundreds of grams of weight from each of the boards and hugely improve the deck’s resistance to dents and dings. Tuff Tech Ballistic Surf Mesh allows Best’s shaper to create a lightweight surfboard with the magical flex and feel that PU boards are prized for yet with all the strength and durability of a much heavier and less flexible pop-out board.
