--------
Dear Wainman Hawaii Gang, partners, friends, and the entire kiteboarding community:
Firstly, we would like to thank you for your continuous support for the brand. We are very happy to tell you that after our initial 5 years of business operation, Wainman Hawaii is now moving into its next stage of growth and new developments for you!
As you may be aware, there have been some negative, unnecessary and hateful comments recently posted online once again, on the Facebook page of one the original co-founders, Lou Wainman. Although our company cannot control Lou and is not responsible for this, we would like to sincerely apologize to everyone that has been offended by these actions in any way. We definitely do not condone this behavior as this is not part of our marketing strategy or business practices.
Like many of the first kitesurfers, the members of this company were inspired by his pioneer achievements in the sport and his beautiful mind. Over the last 7 years, on top of working hard for the development of this brand, working on its products and public image, we tried numerous times to support and assist Lou in his own personal issues, problems and unfortunate self-inflicted situations. A great amount of time, energy and resources have been spent by many of us including direct family (with many professionals involved too) to resolve this. It seems that none of the efforts have had permanent results to date. Lou`s decision to leave the company was a big surprise for all of us, but like always, we have to respect his choices.
Our company was established out of passion for sports, to promote an active and positive lifestyle, and because of our love for kiteboarding. This vision and commitment will always be our priority. Out of respect and friendship to Lou, Wainman Hawaii will always do our best to help him, whenever he is ready for it. To be fair to our business partners, devoted product riders and many of our employee families around the world, there is a certain limit to the amount of energy and financial resources that we can commit to this unfortunate situation.
Since the company’s inception, Wainman Hawaii’s main focus and priority has been the creation of premiere products for you. All the same people that developed the product line, complimented by those who joined us later, will continue this mission. Nothing is changing in the way the company operates. 2014 is going to be another exciting year for us and we hope you will continue to be part of the Wainman Hawaii Gang and its future endeavors!
We wish the very best for Lou and we appreciate your continued support.
Mahalo!
