PSDs are useful in that they can enable the designer to change colors to an image, add image layers or remove image layers. Adding text is also easy with a PSD file, however, it is not necessary to have the PSD file to do this. It is important to note that the designer must be familiar with how to use their graphic software of choice in order to perform such tasks using a PSD file.
