The Exumas, Bahamas – 365 cays stretching down through 100 miles of the most breathtakingly beautiful, clear, calm, shallow water you may ever lay your eyes upon. This heretofore lesser known group of bahamian out islands is quietly becoming a select kiteboarding destination. Why? Endless and outstanding possibilities! George Town, on Great Exuma, is the capital and the largest settlement in the Exumas, and a great town from which to base your holiday. The town itself is relatively small, and most businesses are in the center of town, which itself surrounds Lake Victoria, named after, of course, Queen Victoria. (The Bahamas became a British Colony in the late 1700’s, and still recognizes itself as once having been under the Crown.) |
