After an underachieving wind yesterday, the Mondial du Vent has known a great day of Tramontane this wednesday. The organization has been allowed to launch every competitions, making the numerous audience happy in La Franqui.

Kitesurf Freestyle
The numerous visitors enjoyed some very impressive jumps, which were high and near the beach, at the International Air Challenge competition.
Today, on the agenda, during the double knock-out competition for the freestyle, the jumps moved from kiteloop to handle-pass, and the feats of the French freestyle champion, Vincent Tiger resulted in the elimination of the world champion Thomas Cocquelet. Jérémie Eloy goes up in the results, now at the 3rd place, with some of the most beautiful kiteloops of the competition, but he meets Tom Hébert who is more than motivated. The latter wins and meets Charles Deleau, winner of the single elimination, and wins the duel. With a victory each, it’s eventually Charles Deleau who dominates after a very tight heat. The young man from Montpellier, Florian Daubos, ends up at the 4th position.
In the women competition, the variety of Claudine Podevin’s jumps was not sufficient, Hélène Barrière confirms her first place with some very nice jumps with a great finish. Celine Rodenas is at the 3rd position.

Men : 1- Charles Deleau; 2- Tom Hébert; 3- Jérémie Eloy; 4- Florian Daubos; 5- Vincent Tiger; 6- Benjamin Dupont.
Women : 1- Hélène Barrière; 2- Claudine Podevin; 3- Céline Rodenas.
Kitesurf Speed
Thanks to a poweful Tramontane, two heats of the PKRA Kite Speed World Cup took place today. The wind was stronger during the second heat, it was quite difficult to ride today with the waves and the lapping.
The Frenchman from Montpellier, Raphaël Salles, with a light weight, wins the second heat after a good fight and a great handling of the race. His best run is 36.76 knots. He is top of the general results after two heats and followed by another old timer, Christophe Prin-Guenon (34.48 knots).
In the women competition, it's no surprise that Aurelia Herpin wins the two heats.
Providing tomorrow forecast, with a stronger wind than today, the best runs could be beaten easily tomorrow.
