So after 5 months working in the kitchen and teaching in Holland I was super happy to leave again ’cause the weather has been shit this year back home! The plan for the winter: Go back to Vietnam and to Sumbawa.
I left on the 28th of September to Vietnam, Mui Ne!! Finally! I had a bit of a jetlag but was all good. It was nice to see all of my friends back!! I have a feeling this will be a killer season in Nam!
Tuesday we left for Bali, me and 3 friends to chill a little in my family’s house. Friday we arrived in Sumbawa for a 2 week wave session!
So arriving here in Amangati hotel there was not much wind, but the waves!!! Super nice! We ate something, drank a beer, walked down the beach, looked at the waves and when we were walking back the wind picked up! This means kiting. Yippy! I put my 11m sport in the air in combination with my underground waveboard!! I felt the wind as I got out through the gates of hell. This is a pass through between 2 big waves (but they weren’t so big today so forget about the Hell part!)
I got right to a set of waves called Nungus and tried to get the feeling of kiting again since I haven’t been kiting much lately. My session was kind of shitty and the wind was light! BUT!!!! I had my first session and I can tell you, I’ve had a lot of “this was the best session of my life daysâ€, but today was different. When the sun went down and the light reflected on the water I had a feeling which I had been missing for a long time!!!! Total happiness!!! Today I definitely had one of the most BEAUTIFUL sessions of my life and this is only day 1 ….imagine!
