Triple-S Event News Triple-S Invitational Session Report, Day 1 The REAL Triple-S Invitational Day 1 in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina !
The REAL 2008 Triple-S Invitational sponsored by REAL, Red Bull, Outer Beaches Reality and John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
The First Day of the Event started off Saturday May 31st with all of the riders arriving into town and checking into their luxurious waterfront accommodations fully equipped with pools and hot tubs. This is one of the things the riders look most forward too, as many times the riders travel around the world they are used to sleeping in cars or the floor of some cramped room.
Right out of the blocks the conditions were perfect South West winds 25–30+. The first warm-up session was held in The Slick from 12–4pm. All the sliders and kickers in the REAL Slider Park were out in the water including the newly modified Red Bull Fun Box, the John Wayne Cancer Foundation Doublewide, the REAL Kicker, and the NEW REAL Butter Box. All the riders enjoyed the strong winds and warm sunny conditions (80 degrees all day).
The riders wrapped up their session with the riders meeting which officially kicked off event at 4pm. During the riders meeting the focus was on how the Triple-S invitational event was created for the riders to maximize their experience at the event. This includes a no elimination, ride all week format, as well as the ability to take the event on the road to many locations up and down the Cape Hatteras Coast. Also in the riders meeting were announcements on the schedule for the week; a 10am riders meeting daily, as well as information for those who miss the riders meeting or who want to stay tuned to the event remotely can call the Triple-S Riding report 252-305-6596.
The event then went back to the water and up to The Slick to continue riding all of the sliders and kickers in the REAL Slider Park. Which was then followed by a sunset (evening cool down) riding session at the REAL Dock Slider.
Conditions look excellent for continued South-West winds on Sunday as well as another blast of South-West later in the week. Stay tuned to this webpage for daily updates, news, session reports, pictures and videos.
