Roeseler's fastest time of the week was 32.35 knots, and he used a prototype Phoenix 17.5 on 27m lines to make dozens of runs over 1.6 times windspeed.
"Weymouth Speed Week is a super event. It has been running for 32 years--the longest of any speed event, and it's a great privilege to sail with the fastest windsurfers in the world and some very efficient sailboats", said Roeseler, "We may not have had the most perfect of conditions, but is was great fun pushing the limits against the likes of Bjorn Dunkerbeck (windsurfer) and Raphael Dinelli (catamaran)."
Fellow Gaastra rider, Cyril Pimont, of France claimed the fastest kite time and set a new 500m kite record for Weymouth, with a time of 33.27 knots, when he edged his production Sky Pro against a fully powered Phoenix 21 late on 8 October. The wind was gusting just over 20 knots."
