After a long but beautiful drive from Cape Town we arrived in Luderitz. A little town on the dessert coast of Namibia. This is the place where the wind blows 35-45 knots and the water is flat. This is the place where we can set records.
The PKRA event has already started, so many of the speed guys are here. Great bunch of people. So will have a good time.
The wind on friday is pretty good, 37 knots. A bit gusty but ok to check the course out. My first run was quit relaxed to get used to the circumstances, but I was faster than I had ever been! Wow, it doesn't feel like you're going fast, but if the sign in the end shows your time, you really have to belive it. My best run was 36.2 (67.04 km/h)!! Almost 10 km/h faster than my record at the moment. Unfortunately it's not official, because there are some discussions about the water depths. So my offcial new Dutch record is 34.6 knots (64.08 km/h). But now I know that I can go way faster, so I'm really motivated to go on the water with the perfect circumstances!!
I'll keep you guys updated! First I'm going to travel around a bit and see something of the country ;-)
